this single post is more useful to me then four years of art school
THAT’S BECAUSE PRIMARIES HAVE COLOR BIASES SO IF YOU MIX TWO COLORS WITH DIFFERING COLOR BIASES, A BIT OF THAT THIRD PRIMARY IS GONNA BE IN IT AND DULL THE COLORS
that’s why you usually have two of each primary, one that is warm and one that is cool
Cyan magenta and yellow are primaries yeah but more that’s for the printing process where the colors are laid on top not mixed
like, go crazy with those colors no one is stopping you and yeah you can get some nice colors out of those too but mixing primaries is more than just “blue and yellow equals green”
